Choosing The Perfect Paper for Your Next Printing Project
The possibilities of a printing project are endless, but not every paper is suitable for every project. For example, business cards are not printed on thin paper like what’s used in printers. Instead, they’re printed on thick, cardstock-like paper to make them durable and long-lasting.
Tips for Choosing the Perfect Paper for Your Next Printing Project:
Step 1: What Are You Printing?
The first step to choosing the perfect paper for your next printing project is knowing what you’re going to be printing. Is it a menu, flyers, business cards, a calendar, etc.? Depending on your project, you will need different types of paper. So, before you select your paper, ask yourself the following questions:
- Does this project need to be durable/last a long time?
- Will my project be kept outside?
- Do I want it to be glossy or have a matte finish? Should it be printed on paper, or is it more suited to a vinyl sheet or foam board?
Step 2: Choosing Your Paper
Now that you know what needs your printing project has, you can start to narrow down the type of paper you want to use. Here are some examples of the kinds of paper we use for the printed products at Prima Printing:
